September 2006 — FPL Energy contracts GMI to conduct a 5-year NEXRAD analysis for the Long Island Offshore Wind Park Project, New York.
June 2006 — Sidney Gauthreaux, Jr., Ph.D. joins GMI as the Technical Director for the Wildlife Remote Sensing and Technology Program. Dr. Gauthreaux was one of the pioneers in the use of radar to study bird movements in the atmosphere and is widely acknowledged as an expert in his field.
May 2006 — GMI awarded contract for spring migration avian radar study for the Paragon Wind Energy Project, New York.
April 2006 — GMI begins offshore bird study for the Cape Wind energy project. GMI will conduct its fourth avian radar study for Cape Wind with a MARS® stationed on an offshore barge in Nantucket Sound, Massachusetts.
January 2006 — GMI begins winter and
spring avian radar studies for the Long Island Offshore Wind Park
Project for FPL Energy, New York. Onshore and offshore MARS® avian
radar studies are conducted.
