Mars Configuration
A typical MARS® configuration is a dual radar-based system which
includes:
S-BAND RADAR (TracScan™ Horizontal Surveillance)
- Detection of
flying birds in ground clutter
- Detection of flying birds in rain
and snow
- Detection of birds from the surface to 20° above the
horizon with a 6 nautical mile range
- Detection of flight headings
- Sub-pixel spatial resolution radar data
- 12-bit radar signal
dynamic range
- Track data and radar characteristics recorded in
real time to MS Access or SQL compatible database
X-BAND RADAR (VerCat™ Vertical Altitude or TracScan™ Horizontal
Surveillance)
- VerCat™ Mode
(vertical)
- Detection of birds from the surface
to 9,000 feet
- Detection of moving bird targets with measurement of
altitude and ground position
- TracScan™ Mode
(horizontal)
- Detection of birds
from the surface to 25° above the horizon within a 2 to 6 nautical mile
radial range
- Detection of flight headings
- Either TracScan™ or VerCat™ Modes
- Sub-pixel spatial resolution radar data
- 12-bit
radar signal dynamic range
- Track data and radar characteristics
recorded in real time to MS Access or SQL compatible database
